Work in Progress
My digital photography classes are all about technical precision. As I scrutinize the jpeg preview through my viewfinder, I'm constantly dissecting each step for my students. There's pressure to produce "perfect" images. But with film photography, it's a different story.
There's magic in the deliberate, unhurried pace of large-format photography. The sheer bulk of the camera necessitates a slowdown, both for me and my subject, leading to a more thoughtful and intimate process.
It remains distinct from my professional practice and creates opportunities to connect with remarkable women.
